For over 30 years, ARDS has been serving the Frederick County region by producing design for the everyday. We serve both residential and commercial clients with experience in the retail, hospitality, and industrial industries.

Lead by Principal Architect, Clyde M. Berger III, our firm is known for our environmental designs, restoration of historical homes, and commitment to excellence. 

We are experts at providing custom, dynamic, high-quality designs for new homes, apartments/condos, additions, and other remodeling/renovation needs.

We are currently licensed in Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia.

Clyde Berger, Principal

As Founder and Principal Architect of Architects and Residential Design Services, Clyde M. Berger III brings over 30 years of experience in residential and commercial design. Clyde is a 1979 graduate of the University of Maryland School of Architecture and a native of Frederick County, Maryland. 

His portfolio includes integrating  SIPs, ICF foundation systems, natural daylighting, natural ventilation, and passive solar technology into his designs to cut down on energy costs for his clients. Clyde is passionate about finding creative solutions that enhance his clients’ vision.
